Women’s Soccer Hits the Road for Matches with LIU Post, Caldwell

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team will travel to Brookville, N.Y. Wednesday, Sept. 13 to play against the LIU Post Pioneers 4 p.m. Then, later this week on Friday, Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m. the women's soccer team will be in Caldwell, N.J. playing against Caldwell University.

Improving their record to 2-1, the women's soccer team had to face Post University in a gritty overtime matchup. The first goal was scored by sophomore Jessica Monteleone (42:54). Brook Haden, a junior, delivered the winning goal (96:10) in overtime. Erin Tinneny, a junior, finished with three saves. This was the women's first conference win of the season. 

The Pioneers are having a good start to the season. Their most recent matchup with Nyack College had a final score of 7-0, with 7 different players netting each of the seven goals. LIU Post will be looking to protect their perfect record (3-0) against the women's soccer team. 

Caldwell, like the Jefferson, recently picked up their first conference win. The win came from a face-off with Chestnut Hill College ending in a 5-0 shutout. Before seeing our women's team, Caldwell will play Molloy College first on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. 

The women will play against Georgian Court University at Ravenhill field (Philadelphia, Pa.) on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. Catch the live stats here.
