ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (4-3, 3-1 CACC) defeated the Dominican Chargers (0-7, 0-5 CACC) in a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon from Orangeburg, N.Y.
Led by freshman Sarah Patrignani's two-goal game, the Rams moved over .500 on the season and to 3-1 in CACC play.
Sophomore MaryKate Ulmer started the scoring the scoring for Jefferson in the road affair. The sophomore put the Rams up 1-0 in the 27th minute of action. It came as the second goal of the season for Ulmer.
Dominican evened up the contest later in the first half when Kaitlyn Montera scored in the 35th minute. The two teams went into half tied at 1-1.
Patrignani gave the Rams the lead in the 74th minute as sophomore Alexa Karakitsios assisted on the play, 2-1.
Karakitsios found Patrignani later in the match when the two connected again in the 85th minute to put Jefferson up 3-1 to help seal the victory.
The goals came as the second and third of Patrignani's young career. The assists were the first two for Karakitsios on the campaign.
Junior keeper Erin Tinneny made two saves on the afternoon.
Jefferson had a 27-4 advantage on shots in the lopsided offensive affair including 14-3 on shots on target.
Jefferson Women's Soccer now hosts Holy Family at Ravenhill Field on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.
