PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (9-6-0, 8-3-1 CACC) turned in a 1-0 shutout victory over the Nyack Warriors (1-15-0, 1-10-0 CACC) from Ravenhill Field on Senior Day.
All three started the match for the Rams including Teixeira, who suffered a season-ending injury back in early October. She played the kickoff before exiting the game.
After a scoreless first half that saw Jefferson outshoot Nyack, 10-1, the Rams scored in the first minute of the second half when junior Morgan Foster played a ball to sophomore Dena Noiseux who blasted a shot just under the crossbar from beyond the corner of the box. It came as her team-leading sixth goal of the season and the game winner.
The Rams outshot the Warriors in the second half, 14-0, which led to a 24-1 edge across 90 minutes.
Junior keeper Erin Tinneny (W, 9-6) and the Jefferson defense turned in their fifth shutout of the season. For Tinneny, it came as the seventh of her career.
Jefferson Women's Soccer returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Wilmington (Del.) for a 3:30 p.m. CACC matchup.
