Women’s Soccer Prevails in Home Shutout Over Felician, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (2-3-0, 2-2-0 CACC) recorded a 3-0 shutout victory over the Felician Golden Falcons (1-6-0, 1-4-0 CACC) from Ravenhill Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams scored two goals in the first half and one in the second to get the conference win.

Junior MaryKate Ulmer notched the two first half goals for her first goals of the campaign.

In the 16th minute, fellow junior Emily Discavage made a cross into the box to Ulmer who headed the ball just inside the post to make it 1-0.

Two minutes later, the pair connected again in the 18th minute when Discavage played a ball to the top of the box which Ulmer blasted from about 13 yards away for the goal, 2-0.

The Jefferson offense was firing in the opening 45 minutes with 11 shots and a 7-0 advantage on corner opportunities.

Freshman Ava Albergo scored the Rams' final goal in the 71st minute. Freshman Sydney Williams took a shot that was saved but rebounded to Albergo who put it back in, 3-0. It came as Albergo's second goal of the year and Williams' first collegiate point with the assist.

Jefferson outshot Felician, 16-3, and led corners, 13-1, over the 90 minutes.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Tinneny (W, 2-3-0) made three saves on the day in her first shutout of the season.
