Women’s Soccer Falls in CACC Road Affair at Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (2-5, 2-4 CACC) dropped a Wednesday afternoon conference match to the Georgian Court Lions (67-3, 5-0 CACC) by a final of 4-1 from the GCU T&F Complex in Lakewood, N.J.

The Lions took a 3-0 lead in the first half to help secure the victory. Georgian Court's Krystal Hund scored the Lions' first goal in the 14th minute with an assist from Heather Arbachesky. GCU's Anissia Fucci scored goals two and three in the 21st and 25th minute on assists from Kaitlin Lister and Kaylie Wessberg.

Jefferson managed five shots in the first half with two on target but could not cut down the lead.

The Lions extended its advantage to 4-0 in the 64th minute when Arbachesky scored after playing a cross from Lister.

Jefferson responded with its first, but only goal, in the 66th minute when senior Brooke Haden converted her first goal of the campaign from six yards out. Junior Dena Noiseux earned an assist on the play.

In total, the Rams took 19 shots on the day with eight on goal. Jefferson also owned a 7-3 advantage on corner opportunities.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Tinneny (L, 2-5) made three saves in the effort.

Jefferson Women's Soccer returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m. from Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, N.J. at Foley Field.
