Women’s Soccer Suffers Nonconference Road Loss at Bridgeport

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (4-6-1) suffered a 6-0 nonconference road loss to the Bridgeport Purple Knights (8-3-1) from Knights Field in Bridgeport, Conn. on Wednesday night under the lights.

Bridgeport scored two goals in the first half with the remaining four coming in the final 45 minutes of action.

The Purple Knights' first goal came in the 19th minute before the second in the 35th minute.

Bridgeport added goals in the 48th, 49th, 69th and 80th minute to win 6-0.

Jefferson goalkeeper Erin Tinneny faced a litany of Bridgeport shots. Tinneny made eight stops on the day including six in the first half as the Purple Knights took a total of 22 shots.

Jefferson managed three shots in the effort: one from junior MaryKate Ulmer, one from freshman Ava Albergo and one on goal from freshman Kelsey Butler.
