Late Goals Not Enough as Women’s Soccer Drops Nonconference Road Affair to Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (5-7-1) dropped a nonconference road affair on Monday night to the Molloy Lions (5-7-1) in Rockville Centre, N.Y. from RVC Sports Complex by a final of 4-2.

Jefferson scored two late goals in the 83rd and 84th minutes to cut the Molloy advantage in half at 4-2 but could not complete the late comeback.

Freshman Alessandra DiStefano scored first for the Rams on an assist from fellow freshman Emma Kuciapinski.

Senior Brooke Haden gave Jefferson its second goal of the night a minute later on an assist from freshman Ava Albergo.

Molloy led early in the contest after scoring in the 8th and 13th minute to grab the quick 2-0 lead.

The Lions added a goal in the 31st minute to take a 3-0 edge into halftime.

Molloy then extended its lead to 4-0 in the 69th minute before Jefferson added its two scores to get within two at 4-2.

Molloy led shots, 20-3, in the affair as well as shots on goal, 12-3, and corners, 10-3.
