Late Millersville Goal Thwarts Women's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA – Millersville (3-0) scored the game-winning goal with 26 seconds remaining in regulation as the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (0-3) fell to the visiting Marauders, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Millersville had the better of play throughout the game, outshooting the Rams 15-3, but seven saves from graduate student Erin Tinneny and two by freshman Allie Bone kept Jefferson in the contest. Bone made a huge stop on a penalty kick in the 75th minute to keep the game scoreless.

With time running out in regulation, the Marauders finally broke through, sending a shot from the upper left of the box past Bone into the right side of the goal.

Jefferson totaled 11 saves in the contest, including two by defenders.
- Millersville had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
- The Rams still lead the all-time series, 9-7-1.
