Women's Soccer Pulls Away in Second Half To Defeat Nyack on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (8-3, 8-0 CACC) used a six-goal second half to top Nyack (2-9-1, 2-5-1 CACC), 7-0 on Senior Day at Ravenhill Field on Saturday.

The Rams had numerous opportunities in the first half, getting off 19 shots but only putting eight on goal. The lone goal of the period came in the 11th minute, when senior MaryKate Ulmer dribbled in on her own and found the lower right side of the net. It was her team-leading 10th tally of the campaign.

Jefferson had better luck finishing chances in the second period. Senior Dena Noiseux scored back-to-back goals just two minutes apart to increase the lead to 3-0. Junior Casey Sheehan and freshman Devin Sullivan picked up helpers on the goals. Junior Kasey Schlupp scored off of senior Erin Sullivan's corner kick in the 63rd minute and freshman Laural Erick got on the board in the 65th minute.

Erick put on a show late in the frame, scoring consecutive goals in the 82nd and 83rd minutes for the hat trick. She deposited a shot from the top left of the box for her second tally and used her speed for the third marker, beating the defender to a loose ball and dribbling around the charging goalkeeper.

The Rams honored seniors Emily Discavage, Hanna Glass, Alexa Karakitsios, Erin Sullivan, MaryKate Ulmer, Kayla West and Dena Noiseux prior to the contest.

It was the Rams' fifth straight shutout, stretching their scoreless streak to 450:26. Graduate student Erin Tinneny and junior Danielle Samson shared the clean sheet.
- Jefferson's eight-game win streak is the longest since a 10-game stretch in 2011. The Rams went a perfect 12-0 in conference play that season.
- It is the fourth time that the Rams have scored at least six goals in a game this season.

The Rams welcome Goldey-Beacom to Ravenhill Field on Wednesday, October 23 at 3 p.m.
