NEW HAVEN, CT (October 9, 2009) - Conference newcomer Concordia (N.Y.) College has garnered the top seed for the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's tennis team tournament. The Clippers enter the tournament with an undefeated record (10-0, 8-0 CACC) in their first season as a member of the CACC. Goldey-Beacom College has secured the No. 2 seed and, along with Concordia, will host a first-round match on Tuesday, Oct. 13.  Holy Family earned the #3 seed, while Philadelphia University will play in the #4 spot.

The winner of the CACC Championship will receive an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis East Region Tournament.

Concordia will host #4 and defending CACC Champion, Philadelphia University, on Tuesday at 3:00 pm. Philadelphia concluded regular-season conference play with a 5-3 record and is 9-6 overall. The Clippers defeated the Lady Rams, 8-1, back on Sept. 24.

Goldey-Beacom went 7-1 in conference action and is 10-1 overall and will host #3 Holy Family University on Tuesday at 3:00 pm. Goldey-Beacom's only loss this season was to top-seeded Concordia. The Lightning won the regular-season match against Holy Family by a score of 5-3 on Oct. 7. Holy Family went 6-2 in conference play and is 9-3 overall. Holy Family advanced to last season's CACC Championship match before falling to Philadelphia, 5-3.

The CACC Championship match will be hosted by Chestnut Hill College on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 3:00 pm. Chestnut Hill will also host the CACC Individual Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16-17. The action will begin at 9:00 am both days.
