NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University's Julia Arruda (Valinhos, Brazil/Anglo Coc Valinhos) earned conference recognition for the second straight season as she earned a place on the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) second team on Tuesday.
An All-CACC first team selection a year ago, Arruda posted five singles victories as the Rams' No. 1 singles player. She advanced to the second round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Region Championship in September.
In doubles play, teamed up with Jala Hamada (Giza, Egypt/Dar El-Tarbia, IGCSE), Arruda went 6-5 in the top flight. Arruda and Hamada went 3-3 against the CACC.
In her two-year career with Philadelphia, Arruda owns a 19-14 singles record and 11 doubles victories.
Philadelphia (7-4, 3-4 CACC) ends the fall season with a non-conference match at Cabrini on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m.
