Women's track competes at West Chester Open

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's track recorded numerous solid performances at the West Chester Open Saturday afternoon at West Chester University.

Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic) turned in Philadelphia's top performance of the day with a third-place finish in the 24-runner 1,500 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 08.54 seconds.

Alyssa Litty (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and Courtney Lafferty (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) also competed in the 1,500 and posts finishes of eighth (5:19.38) and 13th (5:34.08), respectively.

In the 800 meter run, Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Catholic Central) led the way with a ninth-place time of 2:38.14. Clarissa Kelsey (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington) crossed the finish line in 2:40.85 to come in 12th. Lafferty was hot on Kelsey's heels with a time of 2:41.68 to take the 13th spot.

Meghan Ford (Leonia, N.J./Leonia) was the lone Ram to run the 5,000 meter race and she finished the event in ninth with a time of 23:01.06.

Chelsea Love ran the 200 meter dash in a 12th-place time of 31.13.

The Rams next event is the two-day Collegiate Track Conference Championship at Georgian Court University. The championship begins on Friday, April 19.
