Women’s track takes third at inaugural CACC Championship

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's track team recorded a third-place finish in the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Track & Field Championship held Sunday at Georgian Court University.

The Rams racked up a total of 110 points. Host Georgian Court won the conference title with 260 points. Caldwell took second, garnering 139 points.

Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic) earned All-CACC first team recognition in the 1,500-meter run and the 5,000-meter run with a pair of victories.

In her first 1,500 race this year, Falvey ran a school-record time of 5:00.53, two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She earned the win in the 5,000 with a time of 19:14.56.

Alyssa Litty (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) picked up All-CACC honors in the 10,000-meter run and the 5,000. Litty cruised to victory in the 10,000 as she posted a time of 41:37.90 to win the event by almost three minutes. In the 5,000, Litty had the runner-up time of 19:38.54.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Jessica Thies (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley), Victoria Frisbie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Central Catholic), and Falvey ran to victory with a time of 10:25.24 and picked up all-conference recognition.

Courtney Lafferty (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) was tabbed All-CACC in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as she completed the race in 13:09.35.

Thies posted the Rams' fastest time of the season in the 800-meter run, a third-place time of 2:34.29.

In the 1,500, Barton set a personal-best time of 5:14.04 to come home third.

Chelsea Attaway (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) recorded a time of 20:18.46 in the 5,000 to finish fourth. Stephanie Watson (Newport, Vt./North Country Union) claimed the fourth spot in the 10,000 with a time of 47:58.16.
