Women's Volleyball Suffers Two Losses in Tri-Match

Philadelphia, PA– Philadelphia University volleyball (11-11, 8-5 CACC) fell short in two consecutive matches against Caldwell (17-4, 12-1 CACC) and Southern Connecticut state(16-7, 5-4 NE-10).

In the first match the Rams were led by rookie outside-hitter Brittany Olson who ended up with 11 kills and 11 digs while adding one service ace. Another big player for the Rams was senior setter Adrienne Stigura who led the team in sets with 23. However, the Rams finally succumbed to the Cougars’ attack losing 3-2.

Set scores were: 25-17, 19-25, 20-25, 21-25 and 12-15.

The second match was similar to the first with the Rams losing in 5 sets. Olson lead the team in the second game with 17 kills, 18 digs, and one service ace. Senior setter Stigura also led the team in sets with 32.

Set scores were: 28-30, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 10-15

The Rams look to bounce back from a tough weekend as they travel to Chestnut Hill College to face the Griffins on Tuesday (10/18) at 7 p.m.
