Justus, Wensel named to D2CCA All-East Region Women's Volleyball team

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University sophomore outside hitter Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa./Berks Catholic) and junior middle hitter Corinne Justus (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) were selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-East Region Women's Volleyball second team. The team was voted on by the sports information offices from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference.

An All-CACC first team selection and CACC Tournament MVP, Wensel has been one of the top all-around players in the CACC this season. She is currently ranked third in the conference in kills per set (3.86), fourth in points per set (4.4), sixth in service aces (51), and seventh in digs per set (4.14). In 33 matches, Wensel has recorded a double-double 27 times.

Wensel is second in school history for kills in a season (452) and fifth for digs in a season (498).

Justus—an All-CACC first team player for the second straight season—owns the fourth-best attack percentage in the CACC at .301. Despite missing eight matches this year, Justus still compiled 251 kills—17th in the CACC—74 total blocks—11th in the conference—and averaged 3.6 points per set—10th in the CACC. She is ninth in school history with 215 career total blocks.

This is the second year in a row that the Rams have been represented on the D2CCA All-East Region team as former middle hitter Chelsea Hughes was named to the second team in 2015.

The 2016 CACC champion, Philadelphia is currently 29-4 overall and will make its NCAA Tournament debut on Thursday, Dec. 1 against the University of New Haven at Daemen College.
