NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team, coached by Tim Moyer in his third season, was picked to win the CACC's South Division, receiving 11 first-place votes. The new was announced by the CACC on Friday morning.
In the coaches' poll, the Rams were picked ahead of all six south division CACC opponents and collected the most first-place votes in the 14-team conference.
In 2016, the Rams reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history after winning their first-ever CACC Championship which came with the league's automatic postseason bid. Moyer's squad went 29-5 overall including 18-1 in conference play, 10-1 at home and 12-2 on the road.

The test to repeat as conference champions begins with two nonconference challenges. The Rams are set for their season opener at the NYIT Tip-Off on Friday, Sept. 1 with NYIT and Le Moyne. On Saturday, Sept. 2, Jefferson then plays LIU Post and Merrimack at the Long Island Invitational.
The team's home opener comes as the ninth match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 13 against Wilmington in a CACC matchup at 6 p.m. from the Gallagher Center.
