PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 13 and Friday, Sept. 15 where the Rams will host Wilmington and Queens at the Gallagher Center.
Last weekend the Rams went 3-1 at the Wildcat Invitational in Newark, Delaware hosted by the Wilmington Wildcats.
Senior Corinne Justus was named to the eight-person All-Tournament Team at the eight-team event while owning a total weekend hitting percentage over .475. Freshman Caitlin Crespo finished with a match-high of 16 digs in their only loss of the weekend against the Yellow Jackets. Freshman Logan Dontell had five block assists while Justus hit a team-high .500 behind seven kills on 14 total attacks in their final match resulting in a win against the Merrimack College Warriors.
Junior Courtney Wensel was named the CACC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. In the last five matches, the Bechtelsville, Pa. native totaled three double-doubles between kills and digs, narrowly missing the feat on the other two matches.
LOOKING AT WILMINGTON
The Rams will face the Wildcats for their first official CACC match of the season. The Wildcats are currently 4-4 overall.
LOOKING AT QUEENS
The Rams will continue their season with a match against the Queens College Knights. The Knights are currently 1-2 overall.
The Rams will face the Georgian Court Lions in Lakewood, N.J. early next week on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.
