WILMINGTON, Del. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (16-6, 11-1 CACC) defeated the Goldey-Beacom Lightning (7-14, 6-6 CACC) on Tuesday evening on the road by a 25-5, 25-18, 24-26, 25-15 final for the Rams' fifth-straight win.
Jefferson has won 13 of its last 14 matches, dating back to September 9.
Junior Courtney Wensel hit .457 on the evening, her highest clip of the season, behind her 12th double-double of the campaign with a match-high 17 kills to go along with 12 digs.
Senior Corinne Justus notched 11 kills, eight digs and five blocks with a .381 hitting percentage.
Freshman Logan Dontell recorded seven kills with a .583 hitting percentage.
Junior Daniela Cintrón recorded season-high 10 kills and 10 digs on the night with a .280 hitting percentage.
Freshman Abigail Kress had a match-high three service aces in the victory.
The Rams had runs of seven and eight-straight points in the first set to win 25-5.
In the second, Jefferson had a 15-4 run in the middle of the set, helping them to the 2-0 lead.
After trailing late in the third set, the Rams had a 24-23 lead before Goldey-Beacom scored three straight to force a fourth.
The Rams closed out the fourth, scoring eight of the final nine points to clinch the victory.
Jefferson Volleyball returns home on Saturday, Oct. 21 with Nyack in a CACC matchup from the Gallagher Center.
