Volleyball’s Harrington Named to 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

Junior setter Alexandra Harrington of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team was named to the 2017 Academic All-District Volleyball First Team for NCAA Division II. Harrington earned a spot of the District 1 First Team comprised of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, East Coast Conference and Northeast 10 Conference. The news was announced via a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) press release on Thursday, Nov. 16.

The 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in December.

Harrington owns a cumulative 3.91 grade point average as a fashion merchandising and management major. The junior was named to the All-CACC Second Team earlier this week. She led the CACC in the regular season with 9.81 assists per set. Her 1010 assists in the regular season ranked second in the conference. It was her second-straight year behind named to the All-CACC Second Team and her second-straight season collecting at least 1000 assists.

After a CACC Quarterfinals win, Jefferson Volleyball now faces Georgian Court in the conference semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. from New Castle, Del.
