Volleyball Wins Sixth-Straight, Downs Goldey-Beacom on the Road in Sweep

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (10-5, 5-0 CACC) won its sixth-straight match to remain a perfect 5-0 in conference play as the Rams defeated the Goldey-Beacom Lightning on the road in three sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

QUICK KILLS
-Sophomore Logan Dontell led the Rams with eight kills follow by sophomore Abigail Kress with seven and sophomore Cassandra Hickman with six
-Dontell hit .438 on the night with one error on 16 total attacks; Hickman hit .500 with one error on 10 total attacks
-Senior Alexandra Harrington totaled 20 assists while freshman Molly Hand notched seven
-Junior Alexis Leddy led the squad with 15 digs

SET-BY-SET
-Set One: Jefferson jumped out to a large 16-5 lead in the first set and continued from there before winning, 25-14.
-Set Two: Goldey-Beacom went on top early, going up by 9-2 before a Jefferson timeout. The Rams won 11 of the next 15 points tie the set up 13-13. The Rams eventually took the lead at 16-15 and never surrendered it, winning the last four points to take the set, 25-20.
-Set Three: Jefferson went up 5-0 in the third, looking for the sweep. Keeping that same margin, the Rams were up 11-6 before a run by the Lightning cut the lead to one, 11-10. The set was close until 17-15 as the Rams started a seven-point run to go up 23-15 before taking the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.
