NYACK, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (23-9, 16-3 CACC) swept the Nyack Warriors (11-17, 10-9 CACC) in the regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon in New York by a final of 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.
-Senior Courtney Wensel finished with a match-high 15 kills behind a .333 hitting percentage with 11 digs for the 11th double-double of the year. She now has 1567 for her career just behind the school's all-time leader at 1601.
-Sophomore Logan Dontell notched nine kills for the Rams while adding six digs and a block assist.
-Sophomore Cassandra Hickman recorded eight kills on 19 attempts with no errors for a match-high .421 hitting percentage.
-Senior Alexandra Harrington earned 34 assists in the win along with 11 digs.
-Junior libero Alexis Leddy had a team-best 14 digs on the day. She now has 982 for her career.
-Sophomore Meghan Patterson added 13 digs.
-Sophomore Caitlin Crespo tied for a match-high three service aces while Patterson and Leddy each had two.
-Wensel also had one solo block and three block assists while junior Amber Johnson had three block assists.
Jefferson Volleyball earned the No. 3 seed in the CACC South to grab a spot in the CACC Tournament. The Rams will now play in a conference quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 6 against the No. 2 seed in the CACC North, the Caldwell Cougars, in Caldwell, N.J. at 6 p.m.
