PHILADELPHIA - The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (7-5, 2-1 CACC) dropped its first CACC match of the year in a 3-2 decision to visiting Holy Family (6-6, 1-1 CACC) on Thursday night.
The Tigers got off to a 3-0 lead in the opening set. They held the lead until the Rams took a 13-12 advantage. Holy Family responded with a 5-1 rally for a 17-14 lead. Jefferson fought back to go ahead 24-23. Down 25-24, the Rams had another hot streak, scoring four of the next five points to win the first set, 28-26.
Jefferson took the first four points in the second set and dominated play, never trailing on the way to a 25-14 victory. With the score tied at three in the third set, Holy Family went on a 5-0 run for the lead. The Rams then scored five in a row themselves to tie the score. The teams went back and forth for the rest of the set until they were even at 22. The Tigers then tallied three straight points for a 25-22 win.
In the fourth, neither team led by more than three points up until the score was even at 20 apiece. Holy Family outscored Jefferson, 5-3 the rest of the way to force a fifth set. The Tigers then got hot in the fifth, going up 8-1 on the way to a 15-7 win.

- Junior Logan Dontell tallied eight kills, five digs and five blocks.
- Junior Lauren Kloos produced eight kills and three blocks.
- Senior Amber Johnson registered six kills and five blocks.
- Sophomore Molly Hand accumulated 29 assists while senior Alexis Leddy and junior Caitlin Crespo totaled 26 and 16 digs respectively.
Jefferson travels to Georgian Court on Saturday, September 28 for a 10:30 a.m. match.
