NEWARK, Del. – The Jefferson women's cross country team finished second overall at the 11-team Delaware Invitational from White Clay Creek State Park on Saturday morning.
Freshman Jasmine Buckridge, a two-time CACC Rookie of the Week this year, was the top Jefferson finisher, coming in 17th place overall with a time of 25:15.2 in the 6-kilometer event, good for a 6:46.4-mile pace.
Sophomore Erin Young finished closely behind with a time of 25:29.4 (6:50.2 pace) for 20th place individually and second for the Rams.
Senior Sarah Nellis took 22nd in the event, crossing the finish at 25:52.3 (6:56.3 pace). Fellow senior Maddie Conway was the fourth Ram to finish, placing 28th overall with a pace of 7:02.1 and a total time of 26:13.9.
Senior Erin Raup rounded out the top-five Jefferson finishers at 26:38.2 (7:08.6 pace).
Delaware won the event (18) followed by Jefferson (81), Delaware TC (93), Chestnut Hill (128), Wilmington (159), Mercer Count (176), Howard (179), Nyack (185), Holy Family (219), Goldey-Beacom (281) and Lincoln (Pa., 316).

White Clay Creek State Park is the site of the 2017 CACC Championship on Sunday, Oct. 22.
The women continue their season next Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Osprey Open in Galloway, N.J. with a start time of 10 a.m.
