Six Women's Cross Country Runners Named To CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's cross country team had six student-athletes selected to the CACC All-Academic Team released Friday by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Seniors Gypsy Blue Cooper (3.64, accounting), Victoria Hochuli (3.77, landscape architecture) and Erin Raup (3.55, architecture) received the award for the third time. Junior Nicole Stough (3.70, interior design) is a second-time honoree while junior Meghan Horan (3.89, physician's assistant studies) and sophomore Mary O'Brien (3.85, mechanical materials engineer) are first-time recipients.

To be eligible for the CACC All-Academic team, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants)
- Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution
- Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution
- Student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

Cooper ran a top 5K time of 21:26.2 at the CACC Championships. She competed at the NCAA East Region Championships and finished the 6K course in a season-best 25:29.60. She was a 2017-18 recipient of the Academic Achievement Award by the Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA).

Hochuli came in 13th with a best mark of 34:11.9 at Bryn Athyn's Lions Night Run. She was a 2017-18 recipient of the Academic Achievement Award by the D2 ADA.

Horan took 11th at the conference championships with a best time of 21:07.7 and was named All-CACC. She ran at the NCAA East Region Championships and posted a top 6K mark of 24:22.90. Horan was a 2017-18 recipient of the Academic Achievement Award by the D2 ADA.

O'Brien's best race was at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Championship, where she clocked in at 27:39.7.

Raup recorded a season-best time of 26:33.3 at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Championship. She was a 2017-18 recipient of the Academic Achievement Award by the D2 ADA.

Stough had top times of 25:36 and 25:36.40 at the Paul Short Run and NCAA East Region Championships respectively. She came in 14th (21:15.4) at the CACC Championships and earned All-CACC honors. Stough was a 2017-18 recipient of the Academic Achievement Award by the D2 ADA.
