Lady Rams Advance to CACC Women's Tennis Championship Match

The Philadelphia University women's tennis team, the #2 seed in the 2007 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships,  advanced to the title match, taking a 5-0 decision in the semis from #3 University of the Sciences at home on Friday, October 12th.  The win propels the Lady Rams to the finals for the second straight year where they will face the winner of Friday's second semifinal featuring top-seeded Holy Family University and #4 seed Georgian Court University.

Head Coach Marty Gilbert's squad, which improves to 13-3 overall with the semifinal victory, got off to a quick start, taking all three doubles matches to open the contest.  The Lady Rams capped the victory with wins at #2 singles from freshman Daniela Rodriguez and #3 singles from freshman Adriana Rodriguez as Gilbert and his team earned the five points necessary to advance to the championship match.  That contest is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th at noon at Philadelphia University's Main Campus Courts.
