Philadelphia, PA- The
Philadelphia University women's volleyball team had three
student-athletes named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference (CACC) All-Conference volleyball team, announced on
Tuesday. The All-Conference winners were chosen by the CACC
head volleyball coaches.
Junior outside hitter Celena Rendon (San
Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) earned CACC All-Conference Second Team
honors, the second year consecutive year she has earned an
All-Conference nod. Rendon was named CACC 'Player of
the Week' twice this year, as she currently leads the Lady Rams in
kills (268) and service aces (45). She is also second on the
squad in digs (238).
Junior right side hitter Nicole Berkstresser
(Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater-Raritan) was named to the CACC
All-Conference Second Team for the second year in a row. She
was named the CACC 'Player of the Week' Honorable Mention
once this season. Berkstresser is currently second on the
team in kills with 204 and a .255 attack percentage. She also
has a team second-best 74 blocks to go along with 39
digs.
Junior middle hitter Molly Malone (Rochester,
NY/ Gates Chili) was tabbed CACC All-Conference Honorable Mention,
her second career All-Conference honor. Malone has a
third-best 179 kills for PhilaU, to go along with a team-high 99
blocks. She also has 73 digs on the year.
The #3 Lady Rams will travel to #2 Holy Family on Tuesday,
November 11th for a 7 p.m. CACC quarterfinal
match-up.
