Lax Powers to 20-10 Win at Chestnut Hill

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University lacrosse team (7-6, 7-2 CACC) collected a 20-10 win at the Chestnut Hill College Griffins (6-10, 4-7 CACC) on Thursday evening.  PhilaU junior attacker Taylor Peltzer led her squad with 11 total points (five goals, six assists).

The first half was tight, as Peltzer tossed in four goals and rookie attacker Emily Ray added two of her eight on the night.  The Rams trailed 8-6 at the half. 

In the second half, PhilaU exploded on a 7-1 run to extend their lead to 15-7, helped by one of junior midfielder Caribeth Shappell's seven points.  Ray would go on to notch seven more goals in the stanza as PhilaU closed out the night with a 20-10 victory on the road. 

PhilaU rookie goalie Cory Lombardo had seven saves in the win, while CHC's Jenn Delahanty and Jessica Pennell combined five saves in the loss. 

Up next for PhilaU is a Saturday (4/23) 12 p.m. senior day contest against Holy Family University at Ravenhill Field.
