Lady Rams defeated by host West Chester, 7-2

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team was knocked off by host West Chester University, 7-2, in a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon.

Philadelphia (8-7) picked up one point in doubles play thanks to Olivia Amato and Sylvia Bennicelli, who picked up a tough 9-8 (7-3) victory in the No. 3 flight over Alex Santoro and MacKenzie Breinlinger.

In singles action, Magill Kurts earned a point in the No. 6 match after her opponent retired due to injury. Kurts was leading the match, 2-1.

Philadelphia next steps on the court Thursday, March 22 against Rider University at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center starting at 3 p.m.
