Lady Rams down Division I La Salle, 4-3

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team is back on the winning path after defeating Division I La Salle, 4-3, Thursday afternoon on the Belfield Courts.

Philadelphia improves to 3-3 overall and snaps its three-match losing streak. La Salle drops to 1-1.

The Lady Rams started off well by sweeping the doubles matches to earn the first point. Isabella Espinosa and Kaylee Fennern were 8-4 winners in the No. 1 flight. In the No. 2 match, Olivia Amato and Magill Kurts were victorious by an 8-6 score. Sylvia Bennicelli and Sayre Limburg teamed up to take the No. 3 match, 8-3.

Espinosa cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Celesta Smith in the No. 1 singles flight. After dropping the first set in her No. 2 match, Limburg fought back to earn a 0-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over Caitlin Coelho. The final point came from Amato's 6-1, 7-5 win over Sarah Chambers in the No. 4 flight.

Philadelphia returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Post at 1 p.m.
