Box Score LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match against Chestnut Hill at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School Thursday afternoon on its way to a convincing 20-2 victory.
Freshman attack Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) led the Philadelphia (2-2, 1-0 CACC) offense with five points (four goals, one assist). Sophomore attack Elizabeth Marrosu (Flemington, N.J./Flemington) scored four times, while sophomore midfielder Lauren Hartman (Sewell, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy) contributed two goals and two assists.
Junior midfielders Libby Nichols (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) and Carli DiCioccio (Bordentown, N.J./Northern Burlington) and junior attack Emily Ray (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) all added a pair of goals. Nichols led the Rams with four draw controls, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
Freshman midfielder Katelynn Parent (Millville, N.J./Millville), sophomore attack Allison Brian (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), and junior attack Rebecca Baker (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) also found the back of the net.
Erica Eaby scored in the first half for the Griffins (0-3, 0-1 CACC), while Brianne Timony had a second-half goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Felicia Branagan (Millville, N.J./Millville) made four saves in the opening 37:58 to earn her second win of the season. Sophomore Kristen Moran (Walden, N.Y./Valley Central) played the final 22:02 and made one save.
Jennifer Delahanty recorded eight saves in the Griffins' goal.
Philadelphia outshot Chestnut Hill, 34-15.
The Rams head to New York to take on eighth-ranked Dowling on Saturday, March 16 at 4 p.m.
