Box Score PHILADELPHIA—The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team completed a series-sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Chestnut Hill with a 21-4 victory on Ravenhill Field Wednesday afternoon.
Philadelphia improves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while Chestnut Hill is now 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Reigning CACC rookie of the week freshman attack Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) paced the Rams' offense with eight points (five goals, three assists) and three draw controls. Three of Mower's goals came in the first 18:03 to help Philadelphia got out to a 9-0 lead.
Sophomore attack Elizabeth Marrosu (Flemington, N.J./Immuculata) scored five times, four in the second half, and picked up two ground balls.
Junior attack Emily Ray (Bedminster, N.J./Bernards) posted four goals and one assist, while Lauren Hartman (Sewell, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy) and Carli DiCioccio (Bordentown, N.J./Northern Burlington) had three points each. Hartman had two goals and one assist, and DiCioccio recorded one goal and two assists.
Junior midfielder Libby Nichols (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) and sophomore attack Allison Brian (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) contributed one goal and one assist.
Sophomore midfielder Allison Cassidy (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) scored her first collegiate goal with 18:54 left. Junior attack Rebecca Baker (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) scored her first goal this season on a free-position shot with 63 seconds on the clock.
The Griffins got a pair of goals from Briana Addison.
Freshman goalkeeper Felicia Branagan (Millville, N.J./Millville) was called upon to make seven saves to earn the victory. The Rams owned a 33-13 shot advantage.
Philadelphia concludes its three-game homestand against Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday, March 23 at noon.
