Women's Lacrosse Routs Nyack for 23-5 CACC Home Victory

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (5-7, 4-1 CACC) handedly defeated the Nyack Warriors (3-10, 2-4 CACC) on Thursday afternoon from Ravenhill Field by a final of 23-5.

The afternoon was highlighted by the performances of senior Kathryn Avanzato and sophomore Sarah von Lange.

Avanzato had a 12-point game behind two goals and 10 assists. The 12 points tied a career high that was set earlier in the season against Chestnut Hill on March 27. The 10 assists set a new career standard for the senior. She now has 196 career points behind 104 goals and 92 assists.

von Lange also had a career performance with five goals and seven points.

Freshman Camryn Sullivan scored four goals and added two assists for six points.

Junior Laura Dunne had two goals and three assists in the win.

Freshman Teagan Hay, sophomore Erin Eckert and senior Samantha Ryder also each recorded two goals while Hay dished out an assist as well.

Freshman Erin Campbell, junior Katelyn Miller, freshman Lauren Najarian and freshman Lexi Patania all scored goals.

von Lange led the Rams with draw controls with six followed by Eckert with four. von Lange also caused a team-high three turnovers. Senior Liz Wissmann led Jefferson with six groundballs followed by junior Katie Gallivan with five.

Sophomore Victoria Raimondi (W, 5-5) evened her goalie record as she made seven stops on the day.

Jefferson outscored Nyack 12-5 in the first half while holding the Warriors scoreless in the second half to win 23-5.
