Women's Lacrosse Cruises To CACC Win over Post, Clinches Playoff Spot

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (7-4, 6-0 CACC) dominated its CACC game versus Post (2-10, 1-5 CACC) on Saturday afternoon, winning by a 20-5 score. The Rams clinched a CACC Tournament berth with the victory.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the first 17 minutes. Jefferson showed its depth during the stretch with eight different goal-scorers. The Eagles got on the board at the 11:29 mark and trailed 11-2 at the half. The Rams controlled the draws by a 12-2 count and outshot Post, 19-5.

The Eagles improved their play in the first 12 minutes of the second stanza, outscoring Jefferson, 3-2 to cut the deficit to eight (13-5). The Rams bounced back for the last seven goals of the contest. Junior Sarah von Lange and sophomore Lexi Patania posted two goals apiece in the run.

Jefferson had a 20-14 advantage in ground balls, 19-8 in draw controls and 35-17 in shots. Freshmen Melanie Goldstein and Kelsey Kaplowitz each played a half in goal and stopped two and three shots respectively.
