KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Host Kutztown used a dominant second quarter to deal the Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (3-1) its first loss of the season, 82-54, on Saturday.

GAMEPLAY
The Rams held a 4-3 advantage early in the contest before the Bears went ahead with an 8-0 run. The margin was still seven (13-6) when Jefferson scored seven straight to end the period and even the score at 13.

Allie Warren added a three-pointer.

Jefferson began the second with six of the first eight points to take a 19-15 lead. However, Kutztown answered with a 21-2 surge to close the half, outscoring the Rams 23-8 for the quarter, and took a 36-21 stranglehold into the locker room.

Jefferson scored the first basket of the third quarter to get within 13 but that was the closest the Rams would get for the rest of the afternoon. With the score 43-29, the Bears pulled away with nine consecutive points to up the lead to 23. Kutztown led by as many as 29 as the Bears cruised to the win.
