WILMINGTON, Del. – The #19 Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (14-2, 6-0 CACC) remained unbeaten in conference play with a 90-67 victory at Goldey-Beacom (5-11, 2-4 CACC) on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lightning scored the first basket of the contest before the Rams came back with six straight points to take the lead. Jefferson was in front 10-7 before going on a 12-3 run to up the margin to 12 (22-10) with 40 seconds left in the opening quarter. The Rams led 22-12 going into the second.
GBC began the second period with a pair of free throws to cut the deficit to eight (22-14). However, Jefferson responded with an 11-3 surge for a 16-point advantage (33-17) with 5:39 remaining.

Emma Kuczynski tallied five points during the stretch. The Rams increased their lead to 18 (49-31) at the halftime break.
Jefferson registered the first bucket of the third quarter to push the lead to 20 (51-31). The Lightning followed with 11 of the next 15 to close the gap to 13 (55-42) with 5:32 to go in the quarter. The Rams then closed the frame with a 12-3 run to make it a 22-point game (67-45) entering the final period. GBC was only able to narrow the deficit to 17 during the fourth and Jefferson led by as many as 29 on the way to the win.
