#7/8 Women's Basketball Falls To West Chester in Overtime Battle
WEST CHESTER, PA - #7/8 Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (5-1) played a tight match against West Chester University (2-5). After tying it up at the end of the fourth quarter, the match went into overtime where the Golden Rams ultimately came out on top.
WHAT HAPPENED

Tori Nigro and Emily Spratt got the first four points for the Rams, with Michelle Koziecki and Bella Mazur matching the score at 4-4 making their shots. Emma Kuczynski is good for a three pointer, and Spratt is good for both of her free throws giving the Rams a lead.

Mazur fights to tie up the score again at 9-9, allowing Anna McTamney to take the lead back after hitting her layup. The Golden Rams continued their lead claiming the next five points bringing the score to 16-9. Carolyn Sipprell makes both her free throws, and Kuczynski makes another three-point shot leaving Jefferson trailing only by two as the quarter ends.

Erin Daley claims another two points assisted by McTamney to give them a slight lead nearing the end of the quarter. Jordyn Thomas, bringing energy into the last two minutes, makes a layup, and Nigro is good for one of her free throws leaving Jefferson ahead by only one at 27-26.

Sipprell claimed the first two points of the quarter after an assist from Burkhart. Kozicki starts out strong getting six points of her own, now trailing Jefferson by 5. Spratt, Kuczynski, and Sipprell make their shots giving Jefferson a 10 point lead at 58-48.

Mazur and McTamney put up six points of their own, bringing them within five points of the Rams once again. Rachel Conran and Koziecki continued to battle making their shots as the quarter came to a close, leaving the score tied at 64-64.

Conran carried her fourth-quarter momentum into overtime, scoring four points early on. The Golden Rams can hold onto their lead until Murphy ties it up with a successful layup, assisted by Nigro at 73-73. West Chester goes on to take the next six points, as well as the match over Jefferson 79-73.
