#3/4 Women's Basketball Secures 25th win on the Season; Defeats Georgian Court 80-63
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The #3/4 ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (25-1, 14-0) have three players get double doubles on the day as they eclipse their 25th win on the season with the Rams traveling on the road and winning 80-63 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South action against Georgian Court University (3-20, 3-11) in Saturday afternoon competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
Jefferson got out early to an 8-2 lead with Haley Meinel, Emma Kuczynski, and Sam Yencha all scoring in that span. Jefferson would keep their attack going as went ahead 16-6 halfway through the first quarter. The Lions would get six more to end the period, but Jefferson would build up a 24-12 lead heading into the second.
Georgian Court would climb back and get within nine points of the Rams, but Jefferson held strong to go on a 13-0 run in response, with Morgan Robinson and Cassie Murphy tacking points on the day, joining Yencha with a double double from the game. Each team had five points to end the quarter, Meinel and Emily Spratt making their shots, as the Rams went into the break up 47-25.
Georgian Court would get 16 points in the third, but Jefferson still outpaced the Lions as they had 24 in the period. Kuczynski, Meinel, Murphy, Robinson, and Yencha all added a basket as they went into the fourth with a commanding 71-41 lead.
Georgian Court would hold the Rams to nine points as they added 22 of their own, but it was not enough to get back in the match. The Lions had the first 10 points in the fourth. Emily Keehfuss hit a three for the Rams while Janice Ashong scored alongside Robinson and Kuczynski to get them the 80-63 win.

Robinson scored 12 points on the day, putting her at 991 in her career. Robinson needs nine points to join Meinel, Murphy, and Yencha as 1,000-point scorers.
CONFERENCE WINS
After defeating Bridgeport the week before and winning against Georgian Court, the Rams have won 22 consecutive conference games, the longest streak of wins in the history of the program. The previous streak was 20 wins dating back to 96-97 season.
