No.11 Women's Soccer Scores Four Goals in Shutout Against Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – No.11 nationally ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (8-1-1, 4-0-1) came back off a performance where they couldn't capitalize their shots in the net with a four goal performance to help the Rams earn a 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win against the University of Bridgeport (2-4-3, 2-3-0) on Saturday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams struck early as a penalty kick goal by Nikki Dedes put them up 1-0 with just 7:42 into the contest
- Sophia Henry got the ball in the net as she hit the corner kick to the goalkeeper who couldn't keep it out of the net. This put the Rams up 2-0 that they would maintain to the break
- Kyra Lesko added her seventh goal this season from a long kick off the right side. Izzy Alexandre ended the scoring spree at the 69th minute as she cut in the middle of the net, waiting for a pass by Nikki Deded and popped it right in the net to end the game at 4-0 for the Rams
- Carly Hayman records her fifth shutout on the year as she had four saves on the day
