Three Teams Claim 2024-25 CACC Team GPA Award

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University saw three of its athletic programs earn the 2024-25 Team GPA Award, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced this week. The awards are given out each year to recognize the school with the highest team-wide GPA in each of the conference's 16 championship sports.

The Rams claimed the honor in men's soccer (3.5), women's cross country (3.71) and women's track & field (3.59). Post University had the most awards in the conference with eight.

Women's cross country and men's soccer garnered the accolade for the second time in the seven-year history of the award while women's track & field earned their first Team GPA recognition. The Rams women's cross country team joins Holy Family University women's basketball and Felician University women's bowling as the only squads to have won the conference championship and the Team GPA Award

"The CACC Team GPA Award demonstrates a commitment to academic success across an entire team's roster," CACC Commissioner Dan Mara said. "The award illustrates a coach's commitment to their student-athletes performing well in the classroom and the team's upper class leadership mentoring the underclassmen to make sure they are committed to their studies."

Overall, Jefferson had 13 of their 14 varsity sports that are sponsored by the CACC have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
