Women's Basketball Delivers Strong Second Half; Takes Down Post
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (9-4, 3-2) begin 2026 with hopes of pushing themselves up the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) standings. The Rams were able to make that mark as they took down Post University (1-6, 0-3) 62-45 in Friday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First quarter saw both teams struggle with the Eagles earning the advantage over the Rams 8-7. Both teams shot 20% or less in the first quarter
- Jefferson was able to fight back and earn the halftime lead with a 14-10 second quarter performance. Post scored the final bucket of the half at the 3:22 mark as neither squad hit the next eight shots. The Rams led 21-18 at the break
- The third quarter was all Jefferson as they outscored Post 25-16 as they went 10-of-16 on the floor (62.5%) and 3-5 from beyond the arc. Emily Spratt had 13 of her 19 points in the third. Caleigh Sperling produced eight points in the third, helping her to 15 on the day. Rams lead 46-31 heading to the fourth
- Jefferson had 16 points in the final quarter with 12 coming from the charity stripe. Post added 14 but were unable to cut down the Rams lead as Jefferson earned the 62-45 CACC victory
