Byrd joins the men's basketball coaching staff in October 2025. He comes in after playing five seasons of college basketball, with two years for the Rams.
Byrd played at Division I Marist and UMBC before joining the Rams in 2022. He helped Jefferson make two straight CACC Championship appearances, winning the title during the 2023-24 season. Byrd went to end his collegiate career at Utah Tech for the 2024-25 season. He played in 140 games throughout his career, starting in 102 games with 92 of them being in a row. Byrd scored 1,194 points (8.53 ppg) and 336 assists (2.4 apg) during his time on the court.Â
Byrd earned CACC All-Tournament Team honors and CACC All-Tournament MVP recognition during the 2023-24 season.Â
