WCU got on the board in the first inning on an RBI single, but the Rams responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead- helped by a single from Anderson and a sacrifice fly from senior pitcher/outfielder Kyle Noonan (Morristown, NJ/ Morristown).

The Golden Rams continued to battle at the plate into the second, getting five runs off four hits- keyed by senior Matt Cotellese's two-RBI triple down the right field line to go up 6-2.

PhilaU rallied in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from Anderson to bring in junior shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/ Gettysburg) and make it 6-3, but WCU added another score in the top of the fifth on a fielder's choice infield knock to increase their lead 7-3.  Mentzer went 3-4 on the day, along with two stolen bases.

The Ram's Anderson came up big again in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to center field, and sophomore pitcher/outfielder Kyle McGovern (Philadelphia, PA/ Archbishop Ryan) followed with an RBI double to left field to close the gap 7-5.

WCU got eight runs off six hits in the top of the sixth inning to put the game away, highlighted by a three-run blast from junior Kyle Orensky in the top of the sixth to give the Golden Rams a 15-5 advantage, which would be the final score.

PhilaU sophomore pitcher Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/ Central) took the loss as he goes to 1-2 on the season, giving up nine hits in 5.1 innings pitched.  WCU's Greg Ball got the win, improving to 1-1 this year with one run allowed in four innings.
