Baseball Splits at Millersville, Wins Game Two 10-7

Millersville, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (2-9, 0-1 CACC) got their second win of the season as they split a doubleheader with Millersville University (9-12) on Tuesday afternoon.  The Rams fell 10-9 in game one, and won 10-7 in the second game of the day. 

In the first game of the day, senior pitcher Mark Pierfy (Trenton, NJ/ Nottingham) took the loss in four innings pitched- striking out three.  Sophomore third baseman Anthony DiFrancesco (Landenberg, PA/ Salesianum) led the Rams offensively- going 1-5 with a three-RBI double.

In the second game, sophomore pitcher Kevin McGovern (1-0) (Philadelphia, PA / Archbishop Ryan) got his first PhilaU win in five innings pitched, allowing two earned runs and striking out three.  Offensively, junior infielder Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/ Delone Catholic) went 2-4 with three RBIs and freshman utility Joe Thayres (Thorofare, NJ/ West Deptford) went 2-2 with two RBIs. 

The Rams return to action tomorrow, March 18th at Chestnut Hill for a 6:00 p.m. CACC single game.
