East Stroudsburg, PA- The Philadelphia University baseball team (5-19) dropped a non-conference single game 9-4 at East Stroudsburg University (21-14) on Thursday afternoon.

ESU combined for all nine runs in the second and third inning on 11 hits and one PhilaU error.  The Rams responded with one unearned run in the third to go down 9-1 and rallied in the top of the eighth to score three more runs on five hits- but that would be all the offense the squad could generate as ESU pulled out the win.

PhilaU senior hurler Steve Benner (Philadelphia, PA/ Archbishop Ryan) took the loss in 3.0 innings pitched, allowing 11 hits and all nine runs. 

The Rams return to action tomorrow (4/3) at Caldwell for a single game at 3:00 p.m.
