Rams Get Big Win over Kutztown Winning 11-2

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University's baseball (8-12, 6-5 CACC) team beat Kutztown University (24-7, 8-4 PSAC) 11-2, Monday afternoon (4/12).  

Freshman pitcher Jeffery Bohus (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) led the defense on the mound, only allowing two hits and one run.  Senior hurler Rob Fisher (Langhorne, PA/Archbishop Ryan) pitched the last two innings giving up two hits and one run.

Offensively the team had nine hits.  Sophomore infielder Dan Hennigan (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) and senior shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/Delone Catholic) had two hits and two runs each.  Junior third baseman Anthony DiFrancesco (Landenberg, PA/Salesianum) had three runs, with one hit, a walk and hit by pitcher.

Defensively the team only allowed one error vs. KU's four in the game.  In the top of the seventh Mentzer (SS), Hennigan (2B) and Fisher (at first base) had a double play to end the inning.

The team will pick up play tomorrow (4/13) at home against Wilmington University, starting at 3:30 p.m. at Alumni Field.
