Box Score Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
baseball team (8-14, 6-6 CACC) dropped a 14-1 conference contest to
the Wilmington University Wildcats (22-7, 11-1 CACC) on Friday
afternoon at Alumni Field.
Earlier in the season the Rams gave the 'Cats their only
CACC loss so far this year- an 8-2 win on the road.
In today's contest, PhilaU managed just two hits, both by
freshman first baseman Jeff Bohus (Cherry Hill,
NJ/ Cherry Hill East). Bohus hit in the Rams lone run in the
sixth inning, an RBI single to score freshman outfielder
Kevin Gibbs (Pitman, NJ/ Pitman)- unearned.
WilmU racked up 14 runs on 13 hits, including an eight-run fifth
inning that included a three-run shot from Brian Miller.
PhilaU sophomore pitcher Alejandro Martinez
(Mexico City, MX/ Cumbres Institute) took the loss, going 4.2
innings, and rookie Mike Ross (Newtown Sq., PA/
Marple Newtown) came in to relieve him going 4.1 innings.
WU's Joe Harris picked up the victory, throwing a complete
game.
The Rams return to Alumni Field immediately on Saturday (4/17)
for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader vs. Post University.
