Box Score West Chester, PA- Philadelphia University baseball (2-14, 1-3 CACC) dropped their match single road game at West Chester University (12-11) Wednesday. Three of PhilaU's runs belonged to senior shortstop Anthony DiFrancesco who went 2-5 with two RBIs.
The Rams led off in the first with a second base hit by DiFrancesco who was then driven in by sophomore second baseman Kevin Giambri. The PhilaU offense would remain silent until the eighth inning where they found themselves down 17-1. Sophomore left fielder Jordan Force scored off an RBI by DiFrancesco who later scored off an RBI by rookie center fielder Rick Reigner. Before the last out of the inning Giambri crossed home plate to bring the score to 17-4.
In the ninth inning DiFrancesco sent into left field for a double that scored junior utility Joe Thayres and advanced Force to third who later scored from a Giambri RBI. The last run of the game would be DiFrancesco on a WCU wild pitch.
The contest win went to WCU's pitcher, Porter. Senior hurler Kevin McGovern took the loss for PhilaU.
PhilaU baseball returns home Thursday (3/31) to take on Kutztown University on Alumni Field at 3:00 p.m.
