Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia University baseball team (4-21, 2-8 CACC) dropped their double header against Concordia College (8-20, CACC) Saturday at home, 17-3 and 3-2. Sophomore outfielder Jordan Force held a homerun along with two RBIs between the two games.

The Rams led off game one scoring two players. A two base hit by senior catcher Matt Minakowski scored sophomore utility Jeffrey Bohus and senior shortstop Anthony DiFrancesco. PhilaU would trail the remaining innings as Concordia put up four runs in the top of the second. Force then claimed an RBI in the seventh off a single that scored junior utility Joe Thayres.

The final score for game one ended at 17-3, with senior pitcher Jared Farbman taking the loss on the mound.

PhilaU controlled the score for much of game two as CC found trouble in getting hits off senior hurler Kevin McGovern who held the Clippers scoreless until the eighth inning. The Rams got on the scoreboard with an RBI double from DiFrancesco that scored sophomore third baseman Kevin Giambri. In the final efforts of the game, Force smacked one over the fence with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. The final out would come too soon as PhilaU was left at 3-2 for the final.

The maroon and grey hit the road for a single game at Bloomsburg University on Tuesday (4/12) at 3 p.m.
