Men's tennis suffers 8-1 loss to Roberts Wesleyan

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was defeated by visiting Roberts Wesleyan, 8-1, in a non-conference match Friday morning at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center.

Philadelphia is now 3-4 overall after having its winning streak stopped at three. The Redhawks improve to 4-1 overall and has won four matches in a row.

The Rams' lone point came from senior Ayman Barakat (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Kharkiv Specialized English School #3). In the number one singles flight, Barakat defeated Beka Buchukuri in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. He is now 4-1 in number one singles matches this season.

Philadelphia returns to action with a match against Division I Temple on Thursday, March 6 at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center starting at 1 p.m.
