PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team excelled offensively and capitalized on six Nyack errors to earn a 17-5 win over the Warriors on Tuesday. The Rams improved to 4-1 with the victory and they are 1-0 in conference play.
GAMEPLAY
Jefferson posted three runs in the opening frame, all of them coming home on errors. Nyack evened the score in the second on a pair of doubles. The Rams regained the lead in the third with a four-run inning.
Ryan Sawyer doubled in two runs and
Dylan Rees added a RBI double before scoring on a passed ball.
In the fourth, Jefferson broke it open with three more runs.
Efrain Santiago came home on a passed ball and
Cole Kriger knocked in two with a base hit. After the Warriors recorded a RBI single in the fourth, the Rams made it 13-4 with three runs in the sixth.
Richard Joa tripled in a pair and scored on a double by
Alex Gonzalez.
The Rams' final four runs came across in the eighth.
Ryan Coyle and
Ryan Sawyer each blasted a two-run homer. Nyack tacked on one more run in the ninth on a single. Jefferson finished with 17 hits on the day.
